Xun Huan
Xun (Ryan) Huan is an Assistant Professor of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Michigan, and affiliated with the Michigan Institute for Computational Discovery & Engineering (MICDE) and Michigan Institute for Data Science (MIDAS), Precision Health, and Applied Physics. Prior to Michigan, he was a postdoctoral researcher at Sandia National Laboratories, and received a Ph.D. in Computational Science & Engineering (2015, MIT), S.M. in Aeronautics & Astronautics (2010, MIT), and B.A.Sc. in Engineering Science (Aerospace) (0T8, University of Toronto). His research revolves around uncertainty quantification and scientific machine learning, with particular interest in Bayesian analysis, optimal experimental design, data-driven modeling, and scientific computing. He is passionate about aviation and holds a private pilot certificate.
